HSC-12
"Golden Falcons"
MH-60S BUNO 167832     Formerly HS-2
HSC-12 officially activated on August 6th, 2009. They were re-designated from HS-2, and they have the honor of being the oldest helicopter squadron in the U.S Navy. They were formed in 1952 and have flown over 12 different types of helicopters. I am proud to have been able to paint their newest aircraft-the MH-60S Combat Seahawk. I also was honored to attend the ceremony.
I started by painting the tail blue while Scott laid out the letters. We had some help by the Navy-who laid out the American flag-they are the only Navy Sqd permitted to have the flags on their helicopters.
Next we laid out what was going to be painted red,,,alot of masking...
Finally I sprayed the red-into the night, as we had to have enough dry time to start the next color the following day..
Then we laid out the yellow and voila!
The Skipper and XO pay me a visit-they loved their new tail bird!
These photos were taken in August at the redesignation ceremony.
Loaded for bear-this thing kicks ass!
