HSM-41 Tan Tail painted Dec 07     Shayne Meder, Scott Donnell   photos follow the blue tail

First we painted the background black. Then following their design I drew out the design in chalk.

Next I sprayed the different shades of blue. It looked like swimming pool bluew, but when all of it was on, it looked cool!

Scott worked on the markings,, anytime we paint the tails, usuallly the markings are done in the original hi-vis colors.

Roxane hand painted the logos since they didn't yet have decals made. She did these on both sides of the junction box covers.

Finishing the eyes....

We did the tan tail right after Christmas in 07. It was really cold and the paint didn't want to dry. We used some heat lamps to help dry the paint-thats what the red glow is. SH-60B BUNO 161566
